No Fly Posters
No fly posters
is a personal project from designer Jon Bland. Jon approaches a number of different creatives to design posters which are then pasted onto abandoned buildings in Manchester city centre.
The one rule is that the type can only say the words 'No Fly Posters'. I was asked to contribute to the project and decided to use real flies themselves to create the typography.
By laser cutting individual letters from yellow sticky fly traps and placing them onto a matching coloured background, the poster was initially difficult to read.
Over time flies were attracted to the poster and as they were, the typography became more legible and easier to decipher.
