BCNMCR stands for Barcelona/Manchester and is a unique design event held in the UK.
The event was entirely my concept and came from many trips to the Catalan capital. In 2013, the event launched with an exhibition and series of one-off talks featuring Hey, LoSiento, Mucho, Mayuscula Brands and Lamosca.
Each studio designed an individual letter from the brand identity and I created the sixth, a typographic letter C using cotton and thread. This was in reference to the textile industry in Manchester. These letters made up a small part of the show.
The cotton theme continued throughout the exhibition with signage mounted to the walls using red and yellow bobbins.
The event was a great success with almost 500 people attending the launch night and talks selling out in less than 25 minutes. It allowed me to grow the concept and in 2014 the second BCNMCR launched featuring 11 new studios.
